The Romero Centre

The Romero Centre’s individualised case management services enables people seeking asylum and refugees living in Queensland to access the right mix of support and expertise. We are the only organisation in Brisbane providing this unique case coordination service.

People seeking asylum face complex challenges and are incredibly vulnerable. They are facing challenges including hunger, homelessness, severe mental health issues, medical needs, legal issues, domestic violence, isolation and child safety concerns. When they come to us for support, they often have limited English and little to no income. They have high levels of stress and require immediate, intensive care and support from our case coordinators.

Our case coordinators provide and connect asylum seekers living in Brisbane with access to emergency support (like food and shelter), legal support, trauma counselling, English classes, medical care and wellness programs, social connection and community events and more.

The Romero Centre receives no government funding and relies on the generosity of people in the community to deliver its case coordination services to more than 300 children, women, men and families who rely on our support when they need it most.

The Romera Centre would like to see $10,000 raised which will provide 3 hours per week case coordination support for 12 months.
