    Set Up/Pack Up Team

    Shift Times: Slots available all day Friday, Saturday 8 -9 M, 2-4 PM (approx).

    Description:

    This team is responsible for prepping, setting up and tearing down the RIDE route drinks station tents and tables, the mechanics tent, the start/finish banner and the start podium with sound system.

    This team is also responsible for for prepping the course, signing, setting up and tearing down the RIDE route.  Duties include setting up RIDE directional/warning signs, sweeping/moving away any debris from intersections or corners to protect riders.  Mobile phone essential.

    Catering Team

    Shift Times: 9:00am start, with shifts available throughout day until 3PM.

    Description:

    This team is responsible for preparing food for the servery / BBQ areas, preparing drink station snacks and water, preparing snack packs for other volunteers on the course and maintaining a clean food prep and dining area.

    This team is also responsible for transporting food and drinks from the kitchen to the servery / BBQ area, cooking sausages and onions on the BBQ, cleaning the BBQs and maintaining a clean food prep and dining area, and serving food and drinks.

    Parking Attendants and Welcomers

    Shift Times: 8:30am - 12pm shifts available

    Description:

    This team is responsible for safely directing vehicles to parking locations at the venue, directing cyclists and volunteers to registration and the start line, and providing a warm welcome to all RIDE participants! Safety vest provided.  Mobile phone essential.

    Registration Team

    Shift Times: 8:30am - 1.30pm, in shifts throughout the day.

    Description:

    This team is responsible for the friendly, efficient and accurate processing of all riders at the registration area, including collecting rider pledge forms and any monies, as well as handing out rider gifts and bib numbers.

    Drinks Station Attendants

    Shift Times: 9:00am start with shifts throughout the day.

    Description:

    This team is responsible for hosting a drink station along the route and at the start/finish area. Your role is to encourage riders, hand out snacks and water, keep an eye on fatigued riders and maintain a neat and clean site. Attendants will need to walk, drive or carpool if they are assigned to the site along the route.  Mobile phone essential.

    Marshall

    Shift Times: 8:30am start with shifts throughout the day until 3 PM.

    Description:

    This team is responsible for cheering and encouraging riders along the route, as well as managing any intersections and keeping an eye on fatigued riders. Safety vests provided. Cheerleaders will need to walk, cycle, drive or carpool to their assigned positions. Riders really appreciate that cheer, encouragement as they head out or head back or just riding that big hill.  Marshalls are a key part of RIDE. Mobile phone essential.

    RIDE Rangers

    Shift Times: 9am start with shifts throughout the day.

    Description:

    This team is responsible for cycling assigned sections of the route to encourage, direct and police riders and teams. Own cycle and mobile phone essential. Basic bicycle maintenance knowledge a definite asset!

    Sweep Vehicles

    Shift Times: 9:00 am start with shifts throughout the day.

    Description:

    This team is responsible for driving assigned sections of the route offering encouragement, water, snacks and bicycle repair. Sweep vehicles carry tool kits and first aid supplies and are available for cycle and rider pick up in the event of fatigue or injury.  Requires a vehicle/trailer that you would be willing to use on RIDE day.

    Photo/Video

    Shift Times: 8:30am - 3pm for duration of the RIDE

    Description:

    This team is responsible for taking photos and film of riders, teams and volunteers both at the start/finish location and various locations around the route, and then downloading all pictures onto the RIDE laptop on the day. Pictures must be of a high quality (minimum 5 megapixels, each at least 1MB file size). All photographers should have their own vehicle and be willing to use their own photographic equipment on the day.  Mobile phone essential.

    Mechanic

    Shift Times: 8:30am start, with shifts available throughout the day.

    Description:

    This team is responsible for assisting riders with bike mechanical problems, and providing a warm welcome to all RIDE participants.  It's based at the start/finish area.  Bike mechanical skills are required and a mobile phone is essential.

    Kid Zone Volunteers

    Shift Times: 8:30am start with shifts throughout the day

    Description:

    This team is responsible for monitoring and managing the kids on the castle, face painting and kids track together with their parents.  Ensure the castle usage rules are obeyed, encourage, direct and keep watch over kids so that they have a safe and happy time.

    Commentator/DJ

    Shift Times: 8:30 am start with shifts throughout the day

    Description:

    This team is responsible for playing music over the PA system, for providing commentary and encouragement at the start of the RIDE to the riders and as they progress for those doing multiple circuits.

    Merchandise Seller

    Shift Times: 8.30am - 3.30pm, in shifts throughout the day.

    Description:

    This team is responsible for all aspects of selling the RIDE merchandise - from setting up the store, to making sales and receiving payments, to packing it all down.

    First Aid Officer

    Shift Times: 9:00am start, with shifts available throughout day until 3PM.

    Description:

    This team is responsible for being on first-aid duty at the RIDE central hub. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid and current First Aid qualification.
