Date: 19 AUGUST 2017
Location: Wright Reserve, Pye Rd, Quakers Hill
RIDE individually or gather a team of family and friends and RIDE together to raise funds that will help refugees both in Australia and around the world. Grab your bike - and your helmet! - and come along for a great day out. You can cycle the 25km course once, or you could take up the challenge of riding hard and completing 50km!* Either way, it's all about helping others through your efforts and the funds that you are able to raise.
This is a family-friendly event with a short course for the kids too, as well as a jumping castle and face-painting.
Check-in opens at 6:30am at the Welcome Centre.
We will be offering staggered start times to spread the number of riders out during the day!
Watch this space for more info to come soon!
We are anticipating that all cyclists will be finished their RIDE effort and be off the course by 4:00pm.
The RIDE Route
Riders head out for approximately 12.5km to the turn-around point. The route is well signed, with plenty of marshalls along the way for guidance, encouragement and a friendly smiling face! The course can be completed once or twice to equal 25km or 50km. (In previous years we have offered 75 and 100km but to comply with keeping the M7 Shared Path open to other users we are only offering the 25 and 50km options!)
While riding there will be a drinks stations along the route, which will be there to provide a rest stop, free snacks and drinks and a friendly volunteer ready to help you with your bike if you have a problem.
Lunch will commence at 12:00pm. It will be a chance to thank everyone for participating and to celebrate the day. Coffee and tea will be available all day in the same place.
The Kids RIDE Route is 0.6km heading out (1.2 return) and it can be ridden as many times as they like. A fun RIDE! It is required that children be supervised by their parent or guardian while they RIDE the kids route.
